M. DURHAM was born about 1815 in Georgia.8,9,10,11,12 Elijah M. Durham, age 47, is listed as "brickmason"
in the 1860 Census for Jackson County, Georgia (Harrisburg).
In the 1850 Census for Jackson County, Georgia (Subdivision 45), John Bentley
Durham, age 18, is listed in the household of Elijah M. Durham and wife Elizabeth
J. (Justice).
In the 1840 Census for Jackson County, Georgia, Elijah Durham (age 20 - 30) is
listed as Head of Household. Elijah Durham does not marry til 1842. There are
3 younger males listed with Elijah, and 3 females. One female is listed at 60-70,
which is most likely Elijah's mother.
The 1840 Census shows Elijah Durham living near "Moses Potts" and "James
Bailey". Moses Potts and James Bailey are also listed in 1830 Census living
near "William Durham" and "Anderson Durham". Anderson Durham
is the older Durham and does have a young male who matches the age of Elijah
Durham. I have currently placed Elijah Durham and William Durham as children
of Anderson Durham. More research is needed. Elijah M. DURHAM and Elizabeth
J. JUSTICE were married on 6 Oct 1842 in Jackson County, Georgia.2 Elizabeth J. JUSTICE was
born about 1822 in Georgia.8,9,10,11 Elijah M. DURHAM and Elizabeth
