1810 Pendleton, SC -- Page 142 -- Charles Durram.
1830 Pickens Co., SC -- Page 285.
Will:
Partial -- I give to my wife Mary Durham one bed and furniture, one chest, two
chairs, one set plates and one duch oven. I give to Polley Durham one bed, one
cotten wheel and cards, one duch oven, one heffer two years old, one set of knives
and forkes. I give to my son Jeremiah Durham one tract of land of one hundred
acres joining land of Daniel Durham, James Langston. I also will to my son Joseph
Durham, Benjamin Durham, Charles Durham Junr. all that tract of land whereon
I now live to be equally divided between them three, allowing my wife to live
on the land during her life. Also the rest of my children Lucy Morton, Elizabeth
Morton, Patsey Gillstrap, Deliah Gillstrap, Nancy Cantral, and Rhoda Hendricks.
The last named daughters I have given them their property. The rest of my property
to go to my wife Mary and daughter Polly and I will my large Bible and the hymn
book to my wife Marey Durham. I appoint my brother Daniel Durham, Gidian Ellis,
Barnett H. Allgood as Executors. Dated 4 Jan 1834. Signed Charles X Durham, seal.
Will proved 13 Jan 1834. Bond made same day for Daniel Durham Admr. Inventory
made 18 Jan 1834.

Charles born before 1770 was 1st married to Mary Smith their dua. was Lucy b.
29 July 1791 she married Joel Morton on 7 Feb. 1807 and is buried in Alabama.
His 2nd wife Berte (Bertie) Mary Fortune they had 10 children. Thier dau. Delliah
(Delila) b. 11 May 1801 married 10 April 1828 in Pickens S.C. to William Gilstrap
b. 10 Sept. 1805. She die on 30 July 1854 and is buried at Tabor Cem Easley S.C.This
information came from the family bible and from Hoyte Gilstrap. If you have any
infomation on this Charles and 2nd wife Mary, I would love to have it.

Jan 1834 in Pickens District, SC.
Charles married (1) Mary Fortune on 10 Mar 1794 in Warren Co., NC. Mary was born
in SC. She died in GA.
They had the following children:
+ 4 F i Elizabeth Durham was born 16 Feb 1797 and died 18 Oct 1884.
+ 5 F ii Martha Durham was born Jul 1798 and died 12 Mar 1884.

Charles also married (2) Mary Smith, daughter of Christopher Kitt B. Smith and
Mary Mauldin. Mary was born 1772 in Chatham Co., NC. She died 1793 in Chatham
Co., NC.
They had the following children:
16 F xiii Lucy Durham was born 29 Jul 1791 in Chatham Co., NC. She died 1890
in Etowah, AL.

Now, obviously, from the birth dates, Lucy b 1791 was from CAD's *first* wife,
Mary Smith. *Then* after her death he married his *second* wife, Mary Fortune.
Given the birthhplace of Mary Smith and a recent post to Durham-L by Dan Durham,
one has to question the cited birthplace of the Rev Durham as Lunenburg, VA rather
than either Chatham or Warren Co, NC.
