You may have hit it! I have a photocopy of a card from the Ashe County Public
Library which reads: "Surry Ct. Min.Durham
May 1796 - Ursly Durham to produce son, James at next court to be bound
out. 1793 - Ursilla Durham to bring her daughter Margaret and sons James Durham,
George Durham and Thomas Humphrey to be bound out."
If he (Humphrey Durham) died in 1792, that's why she (Ursula) and not he was
in court and perhaps also why the children were to be bound out.

Thank you so much for answering and I will be looking forward to reading what
you can post for us. By the way, I have some research I did from "Roster
