Co.,NC, and died July 03, 1862 in Saline Co., IL. He married MARIAH CARTER Abt.
1825 in Probably Warren Co., TN. She was born November 30, 1805 in NC or 1807.,
and died December 14, 1862 in Saline Co., IL.

Notes for MARIAH CARTER:
Notes on the Durham family migration to Illinois indicate they came to Saline
County (formerly & then Gallatin) to the "Hugh Carter Place."
There is much information about this in my Durham files. I found this at Harrisburg
's Carnegie/Mitchell Library dated Thursday, March 9th, 1854. It would be from
a listing of County Court activities. "Ordered that HUBBARD CARTER be and
he is appointed supervisor on the SONG BRANCH ROAD (probably LONG BRANCH) from
WARRENS BRANCH to HUBBARD CARTER and he is alloted the following hands to work
said road to wit: A. COFFEE, JAMES A. COFFEY, IRA DURHAM, DANIEL JONES, ASAHEL
DURHAM, WILLIAM DURHAM, LAFEYETTE SHAW, JAMES SHAW, LINDSEY DURHAM, HUGH CARTER,
FLETCHER CARTER and BASIL SHAW. It would be logical that Asahel Durham, William
Durham and Lindsey Durham are sons of Ira Durham and Mariah Carter, as they had
sons by that name.
