1. James DURHAM SR was born between 1770 and 1780 in place unknown.1,2 I have not proven that Thomas Durham, Jacob Durham and Joseph Durham are children of James Durham. I only place them here until more concrete evidence is found.
NOTE: There is also listed in the 1830 and 1820 Census for Essex County, Virginia, a "Catherine Durham", who is listed in 1820 with 2 males who could be Thomas and Jacob. MORE RESEARCH is NEEDED.

ELIZABETH MINTER

Elizabeth Minter was the daughter of Josiah Minter, but whether she was the daughter of Mary Barker Minter we do not know for certain. She may have been his daughter by a second wife. She was still single when her father died in August of 1792. In his Will, Josiah left her, in addition to a horse, a share in his personal estate along with
her sisters Rachel, Sarah, Jael and her nephew, William Minter.

Elizabeth married James Durham Sr. on 15 of January of 1810. She died on 24 of December of the same year 20 days after the birth of their son, James Durham Jr. On the 23 day of December of 1830, James Durham Jr. married Harriet Minter, the daughter of Charles Minter and Nancy Cox Minter. Who the parents of Charles Minter were is a puzzle that I'm hoping someone descending from him may provide the pieces to help us solve. Elizabeth's brother,John, willed his Estate, after his wife Ann's death, to her son James. Any information on Elizabeth and her husband and son would be appreciated.
