Minnie Serene Mathis was born 3-8-1882 in Mt. Olive, Wayne County, N.C. and died 11-18-1979 min Williamston, N.C. Her parents were james Stanton mathis and Mariah Jane Ezzell. James was born 5-15-1851 in Sampson Co. N.C. and died 6-21-1928 in Mt. Olive. N.C. His parents were James Charles and Margaret Stanton. Mariah was born 2-14-1861 In Duplin Co. N.C. and died 3-9-1931 in Mt. Olive, N.C. Her parents were Stephen and Clarkie (Hines) Ezzell
Minnie married first William Daniel Lambert born 6-14-1879 no death date. They were married 12-31-1897.

She married Albert Marsh Durham 10-8-1909 I suspect William Daniel Lambert and she were divorced but have never found any record of such. My Mother always thought of Albert as he father and spoke very highly of him. Albert is buried in Mt. Olive.
