I've been researching the rootsweb connectproject site on which I found your Durham Family Database 3-24-2010.

The James J. Durham information fits my grandfather, EXCEPT his wife is listed as Lucy MANCE which does not fit because my grandmother was Lucy Ann Marsee born in Garrard County, KY to Joel and Patsy Marsee. (other sites list her birth as 11/1886) I've never heard mention of a MANCE in our family.

My father, the oldest of 3 living sons, was George Cecil Durham (often called Cecil by family) born 2/4/1906 in Bryantsville, KY and died on 8/21/1959 at St. Mary's Hospital in Knoxville, TN.

The second son was Noah Marshall Durham (often called Marshall- Noah was Lucy's brother's name).

The third son was Willard Durham (don't know the middle name or initial and he died in childhood)

Two daughters born to Jim and Lucy died in infancy.

Their father/my grandfather was James Durham (I think his middle name was Jasper), called Jim. I recall hearing that James' mother was a 'Lock" or "Locke" (unsure of spelling). Also, I recall family conversations which would place James' death somewhere around 1945 - 1948. Could your James J. Durham be the same man as my grandfather? Also, was George W. Durham's middle name "Watson" -- because Marshall named his first son James Watson (called J.W. by family).

87	iii.	Willard H. DURHAM was born on 13 Oct 1922 in Garrard County, Kentucky.38,41 He died Ruptured Appendix on 25 Jun 1933 in Mercer County, Kentucky.11 Died at 9 years, 9 months and 15 days old. Buried in Lancaster Cemetery, Harrodsburg, Kentucky
