1. Thomas DURHAM was born about 1781 in North Carolina.^1,2,3 It is not 100% proven that John and Berryman H. Durham are children of Thomas Durham. It is the very likely. I have placed them here until more research is done.

In the 1830 Census for Barren County, Kentucky, District 73, Thomas Durham is listed between age 50-60. Thomas is listed with 2 young males, and 2 young females. (Could this be John Durham and Berry H. Durham?? - More research is needed.) (It is also possible that one of the females is "Sarah Durham Nicholson" who married John Deweese on 28 Feb 1829 in Barren County, Kentucky, who is listed near Thomas Durham in the 1830 Census.)

In the 1840 Census for Barren County, Kentucky - John Durham and Thomas Durham are the only Durhams listed.

Thomas Durham, age 69, (ca 1781) and born in "North Carolina", is listed in the 1850 Census living in the household of John P. Pedigo and wife Ruth. (Berry H. Durham is also listed as "born in North Carolina".)

John Durham, is between 30-40 years old in the 1840 Census of Barren County, Kentucky. This puts his "birth average" around 1805. John Durham is shown in 1840 to have 3 young males and 1 young female living with him, all born sometime in the 1830s. There is also an older female between the age 30-40. A "Sally Durham", age 45, born in Virginia and her children, are listed in the 1850 Census for Barren County, KY. (Could this be John's wife??? - More research is needed)

I have gone ahead and place John Durham, Berryman H. Durham and Sarah "Sally" Durham as children of Thomas Durham until more evidence can be found and so I could include them in my database.

Thomas DURHAM and Permelia WHITE were married about 1805 in North Carolina.⁴ Permilia White could be "Miley White" in the Marriage record below from Rowan County, North Carolina.
