THOMAS DURHAM

Thomas Durham, a son of William, was born in North Carolina May 13, 1791. He came to Sumner County, Tennessee, with his parents and evidently settled near Mount Vernon Church. He married Mary West, born October 1, 1799. They are both buried in the Mount Vernon Church Cemetery, which was built around the old family cemetery.

Thomas DURHAM and Mary "Polly" WEST were married on 24 Aug 1812 in Sumner County, Tennessee.²⁰ Mary "Polly" WEST was born on 1 Oct 1799 in Onslow County, North Carolina.^14,16,20 In the 1880 Census for Sumner County, Tennessee (District 12 - District 218), Mary Durham, age 83 and "widowed" is listed as "mother-in-law" in the household of William and Permelia Simpson. Thomas DURHAM and Mary "Polly" WEST had the following children:
